Wind-cold or wind-heat? Viral or bacterial?
While colds may all look alike on the surface, the underlying conditions can be vastly different. Western medicine focuses on viruses, bacteria, and potential complications, whereas Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) assesses symptoms—such as aversion to cold, sweating, nasal discharge, thirst, and the appearance of the tongue—to determine whether the condition is primarily "wind-cold" or "wind-heat."
